As a medium, tapestry is my love. It is so rich; the volume of wool, the texture of weft crossing the warp, the weight of an idea and my commitment to execute it. In tapestry once you begin weaving, unlike painting where brushwork permits a near constant state of accessible rework; tapestry demands a daunting specificity before putting wool on the warp.

Historically, tapestries were a medium for storytelling passed from generation to generation, a rich reservoir encapsulating the retelling of a well known event. In my work I want to tell stories in the language of contemporary art.

In 2010 I flew my loom from Poland to Chicago. After a ten year hiatus from tapestry I am excited to once again be weaving original work using tapestry as my medium of choice.
